HELENA, Mont. (NMB) – Following Governor Steve Bullock’s extension of the Stay at Home and traveler quarantine directives, Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks has suspended the spring turkey and black bear hunting seasons for non-residents until at least April 24th.
“We place a high value on the ability to get outside and hunt, both for our residents and visitors,” FWP Director Martha Williams said in a statement.”However, suspending the nonresident turkey and black bear seasons for now will keep everyone safe and help all of us remain consistent with Governor Bullock’s directives.”
Spring turkey season began on April 11th, while black bear season began on April 15th. These seasons remain open for Montana residents, but social distancing must be practiced.
Non-residents who wish to return their license will be issued a refund.
