(Montana) The Department of Education announced it has reversed its decision to defund the Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Program, or GEAR UP.
The administration said that it will be dispersing a total of nearly 30 million dollars, or four and a quarter million per year over the course of the next seven years.
This comes following black lash the DOE received from leaders across the treasure state following last month’s statement that the department seemed ready to defund GEAR UP altogether.
According to the Montana University System’s website, GEAR UP provides many statewide services, including free access to the ACT, pre-ACT, and Montana’s dual enrollment program
