HELENA, Mont. (NMB) – Governor Greg Gianforte has announced the end of the state of emergency in Montana related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The declaration was issued back in March2021 by then-Governor Steve Bullock.
But with nearly half of Montana’s eligible population now fully-vaccinated and new cases remaining relatively low, Gianforte says “the conditions faced no longer warrant a state of emergency.”
It is unclear how this announcement will affect Montanans, if at all, since most restrictions implemented while the state of emergency was in place have already been lifted.
