Gianforte Signs Broadband Infrastructure Bill

HAMILTON, Mont. (NMB) – Governor Greg Gianforte announced the signing of the ConnectMT Act into law on Tuesday in Hamilton.

Senate Bill 297, sponsored by Hamilton Republican Senator Jason Ellsworth, provides $297 million in federal funds to expand access to reliable broadband across Montana.

At the signing ceremony, Ellsworth said the bill will help increase access to education and improve broadband infrastructure throughout the treasure state.

The bill sailed through the legislature with overwhelming bipartisan support, with only a small handful of legislators voting in opposition.
