(West Glacier) – Glacier National Park’s new Logan Pass shuttle service and three-hour parking limits are wrapping up for the season.
Parking at the pass returns to a first-come, first-served basis with no time limits until Going-to-the-Sun Road closes for the winter. Park officials call the inaugural 2026 pilot program a major success, noting it significantly boosted vehicle turnover. By handing out up to thirteen-hundred free three-hour permits daily, the park allowed more visitors to reliably access the popular destination while dramatically cutting shuttle wait times.
If you are heading up to the pass this month, keep a few seasonal changes in mind. The visitor center cuts back to shorter hours this Sunday, September 13th, before closing for the year on September 27th. Also, water at Logan Pass is officially turned off, so be sure to pack your own drinking water.
