(West Glacier – Kendall Brown) – In an update to our previous story, Going-To-The-Sun Road was reopened this morning after officials at Glacier National Park made the decision to close it at 9:00 p.m. on September 11th due to forecasted moderate to heavy rain showers and thunderstorms that made the area susceptible to mudslides and falling rock.
According to a press release from Glacier National Park, park rangers accessed the roadway and after evaluating the weather forecast, the road was reopened at around 8:00 a.m. The road was closed for about 12 hours.
