HELENA, Mont. (NMB) – Montana Governor Steve Bullock has awarded $320,000 in funding to support the growth of 25 Native American-owned businesses across Montana through the Indian Equity Fund Small Business Grant program.
A press release says each business will receive between $7,000 and $14,000 to help with costs related to land purchases, building, equipment, assets, technology, operational costs and working capital.
Several local Native American businesses were awarded grants. For the Chippewa Cree Tribe, Box Elder businesses Digital Cleaners, Kyotee Construction, Diamond M Towing and Tim’s Tire Repair were given grants.
From the Fort Belknap Assiniboine and Gros Ventre Tribes, Rope Savvy of Harlem, KL Construction & Realty of Lodgepole and Denise’s Place of Hays were awarded grants.
And from the Fort Peck Assiniboine and Sioux, Wolf Point businesses ABC Automotive and White Bear Farrier Service, as well as Poplar business RezKast Media LLC were awarded grants.
