GREAT FALLS — A Great Falls man today admitted Tuesday to distributing fentanyl and other drugs in the
community while he was on state probation, U.S. Attorney Jesse Laslovich said.
The defendant, Michael Shawn O’Neill, 59, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute
controlled substances. O’Neill faces a mandatory minimum of 10 years to life in prison, a $10 million
fine and at least five years of supervised release.
Chief U.S. District Judge Brian M. Morris presided. The court will determine any sentence after
considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors. Sentencing was set for April
10, 2025. O’Neill is being detained pending further proceedings.
