HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – For the second straight year, there will not be a 4th of July Festival at Pepin Park in Havre.
The 4th of July Festival Committee says the decision was made due to “uncertainties and questionable availability of services.”
The Committee added that they were unable to reserve Pepin Park and the cost of liability insurance has increased. Several weeks ago, the volunteers that put on the Festival asked the public for help
Last year, organizers cited the need to be cautious as a reason not to hold the event, as well as limited preparation time, uncertain product availability and regulations concerning large crowds.
The annual festival was created nearly 20 years ago. It is put on by volunteers and provides food and entertainment to locals at no cost. The 4th of July Festival Committee says they intend to hold the event in 2022.
The annual fireworks celebration put on by the Havre Jaycees is still on as scheduled.
