The Havre Blue Ponies boy’s basketball team has officially began team activities for the summer. The Blue Ponies spent this past weekend up in Great Falls for two scrimmage games. With their first team action together since their appearance in the Class A Boys Divisional Basketball Tournament, here’s Havre Head Coach Waylyn Burgess on his team getting back together:
Havre Blue Ponies Boys Basketball Coach Waylon Burgess – “You know, it was really good to get back out. You know, we get excited about summer. You know, we understand there’s a lot of growth that happens once we get to be around each other, you know. Really hitting the weight room hard, and working on a lot of the skills and drills. They keep progressing, the keep, you know, giving ourselves a chance to of getting back to State. Doing those things, we understand that, you know, this is our time to do it, you know. For the most part, we get pretty good numbers, sixteen, twenty kids a night come in and get, get working on their stuff. We just really enjoy our summertime.”
Coach Burgess and the Blue Ponies are traveling to Dillon to view the Montana Western Basketball program followed by a trip to Frenchtown the following weekend. The Blue Ponies basketball team will have scrimmage events along with basketball trips to view different teams during the weekends over the summer. Stay tuned for more updates.
