The Havre Blue Ponies had their basketball season come to a heartbreaking end on Saturday morning, losing at the buzzer to East Helena, (62-59). Havre maintained the lead after every quarter except for the last one to close out their trip to Billings at the 2025 Eastern ‘A’ Divisional tournament.
The Ponies shot over 50 percent from the floor after the first quarter and carried a (20-13) lead into the second. The lead was still six for Havre after the first 16 minutes. East Helena closed the gap to three points after three and were in position to win it when Vigilantes superstar DeonDray Ellis knocked down the game-winning 3-pointer at the horn to give him a game-high 27 points.
In his final game, Tre Gary finished with 24 points. Matt Huse also went out on a high note, finishing with 15. Another senior who scored was Brayden Ereaux with eight points.
The 2024-25 Ponies finished with a (10-11) overall mark and will lose seniors Gary, Huse, Ereaux, and Noah Barrett to graduation.
