HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Havre Area Chamber of Commerce held its 111th Annual Meeting of the Chamber on Wednesday afternoon in the Duck Inn Olympic Room.
About 150 people were in attendance, including Montana State Senator Russ Tempel, a member of US Senator Steve Daines’ staff, the Hill County Commissioners and Mayor Tim Solomon.
Executive Director for the Chamber, Julea Robbins, spoke briefly and said the Chamber’s three main goals are to align their projects to serve businesses, expand tourism and grow their membership.
The keynote speaker was Taylor Brown of the Northern Ag Network. He noted the strength of the people in Havre and the revitalized downtown area, as well as the new Diesel Technology Center on the MSU-Northern campus.
Brown talked at length about how businesses can survive and compete during down times in the economy. He said that the most important thing businesses can do is commit to the consumer.
