HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Havre City Council held a special meeting on Monday night and unanimously approved a handful of resolutions.
The majority of the resolutions were first readings on tax assessments for the fiscal year that began July 1st.
The taxes are for maintaining street lights and streets, the Bullhook Maintenance Project, and solid waste services.
Mayor Doug Kaercher says in aggregate, the cost for taxpayers for these services has declined by about $28 from last year for a property owner of a 50′ x 140′ corner lot.
The City Council also approved the adoption of the preliminary budget for the 2022 fiscal year and set a final budget hearing for Wednesday September 7th. The Council will convene for their regular monthly meeting the previous day and will officially open the hearing during that meeting.
The other item approved by the Council was a resolution allowing for the creation of a van access handicap parking spot on the 300 block of 3rd Street.
