HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Havre’s annual Community Christmas Dinner will once again be held in the Havre Eagles Club from 11 AM to 2 PM on Christmas Day. Dinner organizer Tom Farnham says the meal is free to the public and is funded by donations and served by volunteers.
“It is served by and sponsored by local people and businesses in the community and it’s a fun day for everybody. We are once again serving a turkey dinner with all the trimmings. Which includes mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, yams, and salad with pie.”
If people want to volunteer, they are welcome to show up on Christmas to help.
“Volunteers are more than welcome just to show up. You know, if they want to serve in the food line, we’ll let someone take a break for a little while and put them in the food line. If they want to help with deliveries, show up about 10 o’clock, start making the go-plates. And by 11 o’clock, the go-plates are on their way to those that have called in.”
Farnham says they will be accepting donations during the meal to help fund next years event, but he says donations aren’t necessary.
