(Havre) – On November 11th the Havre Elks Club will be hosting a Cribbage tournament with singles starting at 1pm and doubles starting at 5pm. Brandy Kurtz the secretary for The Havre Elks Club talks about the event.
“So, this tournament is going to be held on November 11th,2023 of course, and that is Veteran’s Day. So, during that time the VFW puts on a program at the wall at 7 o’clock and do a little program and a luncheon and then directly after the luncheon and everything’s over at 1pm were going to start singles for the cribbage tournament and then we’re also after that going to start doubles. Anybody can call and sign up and if you are a veteran or the spouse of a veteran, we’re going to do half off and we pay out the top two places in singles and the top two teams in doubles. Half the pot goes to the Havre Elks Lodge for use, veteran, or community programs.”
She goes on to talk about what half the prize pot money will go towards.
“Half the pot pays out the top two places in singles and top two teams in doubles. the other half of the pot goes to lodge use, Veteran, and community activities that we do. So, since it falls on Veterans Day this year for the cribbage tournament the half a pot is going to go toward a veterans related program, we put on called the Veterans Giving Tree.”
