HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Havre Elks Lodge No. 1201 has announced that six graduating high school seniors are receiving scholarships .
Local Scholarship Co-Chair Brandy Kurtz says this year’s local Elks Most Valuable Students are:
- Laramie Peterson of North Star High School
- Lacy Maloney of Turner High School
- Amiya Griffith of Big Sandy High School
- Oliver Atkinson and Riley Pleninger of Havre High School
- Timothy Lane of Fort Benton High School
The winners advanced to the Montana State Elks Association competition, and Atkinson earned a state scholarship award.
Student applications are individually judged on scholarship, leadership, community service, honors and awards, employment, financial need, and an original essay.
