(Havre) – On Monday October 23rd the Havre Fire Department will collecting food for their Annual E.L.F.F. Drive. Cody McClain firefighter at the Havre Fire Department and Vice President of the local 601 Union talks about the drive.
“Yeah, the E.L.F.F. drive is coming up here on Monday and we are going to be out in our fire truck going all over town that day we’re going to try and do it all in one night and we’re asking the community to put some nonperishable food items out on their porches with the lights on so we can swing by and pick them up. What we’re doing is we’re gathering food for the upcoming holiday season its quickly approaching with Thanksgiving and Christmas coming up so we’re just trying to stock up the food banks so they can prepare for those holidays so everybody will have a nice meal at Thanksgiving and Christmas time this year, so we’ll be out collecting food Monday night. And one thing we’re doing different this year as well is that if you do forget or don’t get it out Monday night, we will have our doors open at the fire station all week long. You can just drop them off there, we’ll have a little sign that says food drop off and we’ll get that over to the food bank for you if we miss you Monday night.”
