HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Town Pump Charitable Foundation is once again hosting its annual “Be A Friend In Deed, Helping Those In Need” food bank fundraising campaign. Manager Samantha Nimmick says this is the 18th year for the program and that there are a few places they can donate.
“They are agreeing to match every dollar collected by our organization up to $10,000 again this year, so we’re very excited. They can donate at a Town Pump. You can also donate to your local food bank, just bring in a check or cash to us, or to HRDC.”
Nimmick says that this donation helps them cover costs to pick up food, the fuel and insurance on their vehicle, and the cost of the food they put in their holiday boxes.
“It helps us purchase food items for our clients. It helps cover overhead costs such as electricity, insurance. We do currently have three walk-in freezers and one walk-in cooler. It takes a lot of power to run those.”
Nimmick says this is a monetary donation drive in which Town Pump will match the amount raised by the Food Bank, up to $10,000. The fundraising drive will run from September 1st through the end of November.
