The (9-3) Havre Blue Ponies girls basketball team is set to host Hardin over the weekend after blowing out Dawson County on Friday night. Lady Ponies coach Dustin Kraske told New Media Broadcasters a quality that he wants his team to show going into both matchups.
“We’re excited to play better, so that will be good,” Kraske said. “(We’re) trying to maintain the second half of the Miles City game. I’m excited for our kids to play at home on Saturday when they weren’t supposed to have a game.”
The Hardin game was not originally on the schedule as it was a makeup from Laurel canceling their games earlier this season. Kraske said how grateful he was that the Bulldogs’ program stepped up and wanted to compete against the Blue Ponies to max out both of their schedules.
“We really appreciate Hardin. They’re willing to come up here and play us and their coaches and athletic director were willing to come up here,” Kraske said. “We can’t say enough about how much we appreciate that with our community and such because Hardin didn’t have to do that.”
“We’re just looking to play another well coached wonderful team that we’ll certainly see at the divisional tournament,” Kraske continued.
