The Havre girls’ basketball team finished up tryouts and now have a set roster for the 2023-24 season. Head coach Dustin Kraske revealed to New Media Broadcasters what his thoughts were as he was picking the players he wanted to help defend the three-time state champion Blue Ponies.
“The kids are doing great,” Kraske said. “They’re excited for the season to get started. (They’re) embracing the grind of relearning fundamentals.”
Before doing a deep dive into the roster that is both returning and new, Kraske explained the qualities of his team in their leadup to the season opener on the road at East Helena.
“We’ve got a lot of kids that spend time playing basketball in the offseason,” Kraske said. “I know their expectations of themselves are high.”
“I’ve really enjoyed the first five practices in how hard (the players) work (and) how communicative they are to one another,” Kraske continued. “I look forward to seeing what these guys might want to become.”
