HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – With the COVID-19 pandemic still impacting everyday life, high schools across the Hi-Line held their graduation ceremonies over the weekend with numerous adjustments.
That includes Havre High School, which graduated 95 seniors on Sunday afternoon at Blue Pony Stadium.
Parents and families sat in or near their cars on the stadium’s outer tiers while the socially distanced ceremony took place on the field.
Superintendent Andy Carlson said this wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work of the community.
“It just was a good day. So many people put so much time and effort into it. You can thank our maintenance crew, they were out here mowing in the rain using hand clippers to go around (the 2020 in the grass) because they didn’t think it looked nice enough. All the staff, and I just appreciate all the people that came out. Holy cow, this place, it was awesome. Looking out and seeing all the cars and everyone there to support everyone.”
History Teacher Travis Aline gave the graduation address, and the High School Symphonic Band and A Capella Choir both performed during the ceremony.
