(Havre) – The Havre Hill County Library’s summer reading program kicks off today. Children’s Librarian Ashley Verity tells us what the purpose of the summer reading program is.
“The summer reading program exists to keep the summer slide at bay. Keep your kids’ reading all summer long.”-Verity
There are incentives for the children who take part in the summer reading program. Verity has the details.
“For every one- hundred minutes they read, they earn a raffle ticket to put into the prize of their choice. We’ve got pizza play set, we’ve got bocci ball play set, board games, a bunch of fun stuff. Three lucky readers in each age category will qualify to win either a beach set inflatable or a little pizza pool if you’re in the zero to age three.“-Verity
