Havre Public Schools Kindergarten through 12th grade students start classes this week. HPS School Resource officer and Havre Police Department Sergeant Tanner Donovan has some reminders for drivers.
“It’s not a perfect time to be on the roadway first thing in the morning cause there’s a lot of parent drop off stuff so slowing down is really big, obeying the speed limit signs goes hand in hand with that. Every block around a school is 15 mile an hour speed limits so you gotta watch for that. There’s pedestrians, there’s little kids going across the crosswalks, just be aware of what’s around you putting that cell phone down, turning it off. Just being aware of your surroundings is the biggest thing.”
The first day of classes for Havre Public Schools is on Wednesday August 19th.
