Havre, MT – Havre Northstar baseball enters the month of July with a 17-14-1 overall record and an 8-2-0 record in conference play to sit at third place in North A.
The Northstars have been led by Quinn Elliott all season on both the mound and at the plate. Havre head coach Ben Mader said having a player that versatile is like having a cheat code to the game.
“It’s really nice to have someone you can depend on, and the table setters in front of him to a great job getting on base and he’s got a really good eye for the ball. He seems to not really have a game where he doesn’t hit fairly well. It’s almost like cheating, it’s really nice to have him. Coach Mader said chuckling.
In the last two weeks through eleven games Quin Elliott has secured 18 hits and 22RBIs at the plate and on the mound has pitched 15 innings, given up four runs, and thrown 30 strikeouts.
The Northstars will begin the month in Great Falls today, July 1, for their second conference double header against the Chargers. In the first double header series the Northstars claimed a 10-0 victory in both games.
Coach Mader stated how the team needs to execute to complete the season sweep of Great Falls. “Just being consistent. Those guys are at the plate swinging and I think if we stay clean in the field, we will be just fine.” Coach said.
First pitch of game one Wednesday is set for 3p.m.
