HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Havre Public Schools held a board meeting via Zoom Tuesday, April 14 at 6:30 p.m.
Some of the agenda items the board considered were a student information protection policy, a revised Memorandum of Agreement and a request for North Star School District #99 to cross boundaries with School District “A” for the purpose of picking up high school students.
The student information protection policy, entitled District Policy 3650, provides an extra level of security for students participating in online classes. The policy asks students, school employees, online operators and third parties to sign written agreements that require them to comply with Montana and federal law regarding the protection of student information.
A motion was made, seconded and the District Policy 3650 was approved unanimously by the board.
The revised Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between Havre Public Schools, Havre Education Association and Havre Paraprofessional Educational Association called for an extension of the original MOA terms to June 30 in light of Governor Bullock’s recent stay at home order addendum.
A motion was made, seconded and the revised MOA was approved unanimously by the board.
Lastly, the request to cross school district boundaries to pick up high school students would allow the Cottonwood School District and North Star the ability to pick up pupils on the west side of Havre, as long as there is an elementary student riding the bus.
