HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Havre School Board held a special meeting on Thursday afternoon and unanimously approved the only item of new business.
By a 5-0 vote, the Board approved Memorandums of Understanding between the District and the Havre Education Association, the Havre Paraprofessional Education Association, and the Teamsters Local #2 Union.
These Memorandums were required by law to allow the District to pay employees COVID-relief stipends without changing collective bargaining agreements.
This comes after the Board approved the stipends unanimously at the last regular board meeting. Employees who regularly work over 20 hours a week will receive a $500 stipend, while employees who work under 20 hours a week will earn a $250 stipend. The money is coming from remaining funds the District received for COVID-relief that must be spent by the end of the calendar year.
