HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – After being closed to the public for over a year, the Havre Senior Center is working on reopening their doors.
Marci Bergren says there are still several steps that need to be taken, but the hope is to reopen to the public by mid-June, provided that COVID case numbers remain low in the area.
“We do want people to know that when they come to the center, they do have to wear their mask. And when we open our doors, they will have to wear their mask until they are (sitting) down for their meals. The meals will be served, they will no longer be buffet style. And a lot of it, we’re just working on trying to get everything out there.”
The Center recently purchased a fogging machine to help with sanitizing, and they are working on getting a new employee to conduct infection control.
Even when the doors reopen, the Senior Center will continue to provide home delivered and grab-and-go meals.
Scam Calls
Bergren wants to let the public know that she continues to hear reports of scam calls to area residents.
Some of these calls claim to come from Publishers Clearing House or DirecTV. Another scam claims that Social Security benefits will be taken away because your number was used in a drug bust. Never provide personal information over the phone to unsolicited callers.
