The Havre softball team traveled to Frenchtown Friday for a double header vs Hamilton and Stevensville. The Blue Ponies at (8-1) on the season and winners of six straight, continued that streak Friday evening with a (14-4) victory vs Stevensville and followed up with an (11-8) victory over Hamilton.
In the (14-4) victory over Stevensville, Havre broke out to a (7-1) lead at the end of the 2nd inning and never looked back. The Blue Ponies exploded for a 5-run 2nd inning. Elle Verploegen earned another win pitching 5 innings, allowing six hits and four runs while striking out six players. The Blue Ponies racked up 12 hits in the ball game.
In the (11-8) victory over Hamilton, Havre trailed (7-1) heading into the 6th inning before outscoring Hamilton (3-1) in the 6th. The Blue Ponies closed the game scoring 7 runs in the final inning and earning the come from behind victory. Molly Huse hit a home run, pitcher Elle Verploegen earned another with, and Havre as a team tallied 14 hits.
With the huge come from behind win and the controlled win vs Stevensville, Havre Softball improves to an impressive (10-1) on the season and have now won 8 straight games.
