The Havre Blue Ponies Softball team shutout Fergus Tuesday Night in the home game, winning (11-0).
The game was tight with Havre leading (1-0) until the Blue Ponies went on an offensive explosion scoring 4 runs in the 3rd inning and 6 in the 4th. Thanks to a shutout pitched by Elle Verploegen and the Havre defense.
The 4-score inning began with singles hit by Verploegen and Lizzi Haney, a Molly Huse homerun, and finished off with double by Danni Wirtzberger. Verploegen surrendered zero runs on three hits over 5 innings pitched with six strikeouts and zero walks.
The Blue Ponies had 14 hits on the game. Lizzi Haney went 3-for-4 at the plate with Molly Huse hitting the only home run of the day.
The Blue Ponies improve their record to (8-1) on the season, having now won 6 games in a row. Havre softball is back in action Friday April 28th, when they travel to Frenchtown.
