Havre, MT – Havre High Blue Pony softball bounced back on a home road split over the weekend after a hard loss to Lewistown last Tuesday.
The Ponies started things off Friday in Sidney with a five-inning blowout built on an 11 run fifth inning 20-8. Havre followed the stellar performance with a strong 11-1 victory over the Custer County Cowgirls.
Head coach of the Blue Ponies, Tony Vigliotti said that more experience and learning roles was the key to bouncing back. “It’s just getting on the field and getting comfortable with our role. For us being young we seem to get better every day and that’s kind of what we were hoping for as a staff.”
Carina Purkett pitched all 10 Innings for Havre in the two games throwing eight strike outs. Between the two games Bree Hanson secured six RBIs in eight at bats to lead Havre.
