The Havre Softball Team is battled Polson and Frenchtown on Saturday in a weekend double header. The Blue Ponies came into the games (10-1) on the season and winners of eight straight after their (11-8) and (14-4) victories Friday.
In the first matchup the Blue Ponies defeated a very good Polson team (6-2) after falling down (2-1) in the 1st inning. Havre scored three runs in the 2nd to take the lead and not let it go. Avery Carlson singled scored one, Avery Starr induced Lizzi Haney to hit into a fielder’s choice, but scored one run, and Camille Keeley singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run. To help insure there was no comeback, Avery Carlson went deep with a home run in the 6th inning.
In the second matchup of the day, Havre was defeated by Frenchtown (10-1) to end their 9-game win streak. Frenchtown tallied 12 hits in the game along with six runs scored in the 5th inning.
After splitting Saturday’s games, The Blue Ponies sit at (9-2) on the season.
