HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – A Building Automation Technician with FICO, Brandon Berreth believes he is an ideal candidate for the Havre Public Schools Board of Trustees.
Prior to recently taking a job at FICO, Berreth worked at the District for 15 years, starting as an evening custodian before moving his way up to Supervisor of the Maintenance Team.
“I just feel that going to the Board, I can still help the school with those decisions. I can bring my expertise into maybe the staffing situations on the unclassified staff. The custodians, maintenance department, that kind of stuff, and help with them. As well as also help make decisions for the classified staff as I do know a lot of the staff in the District right now. I know a lot of the teachers, and I have a good, open relationship with most of them. So it’s pretty easy for me to talk to. And then I’m also very willing to be…I’ve been on call the last 15 years, so I’m probably just going to be still on call. I’m always going to be available to reach out to the public if they need me.”
Berreth says he is proud to serve as a foster parent and has been involved with Special Olympics in the area, which he says would help inform his perspective as a Trustee.
“I coached both track and bowling, and it takes an amount of patience to be able to do that. But at the same time, I dealt with both the parents, the athlete, trying to arrange stuff as far as transportation, hotels, food, we worked on all that stuff.”
Berreth is competing against Garrit Ophus to fill the final year of former Trustee Brian Williams term on the Board.
