HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Havre’s annual Festival Days Celebrations are set for next weekend and the new Executive Director of the Havre-Area Chamber of Commerce, Julea Robbins says some of the changes they made last year will return again. Just before the parade on Saturday, CASA will be hosting a 1-Mile Run/Walk, with all the proceeds going to their organization.
“The parade route got changed last year. So, instead of going over to Pepin Park, it turned down 3rd Street and then ended at the post office. And that worked out wonderful. So, we’re doing that again this year. So, it’ll come from the High School, down 5th Avenue, and then turn on 3rd. And that’ll run over to our vendor show, which is also new from last year.”
The idea of the event is to bring people together before the winter weather moves in.
“Our theme is ‘Small Town, USA.’ So we really want people to get out and show us what they love about our town. It really, you know, show us. I guess Small Town, USA is really like our close-knit community and everybody knows everybody. And we just want everybody to, kind of, get out and enjoy the community that we live in and show us the love.”
This year’s Festival Days Celebrations will feature a pancake breakfast, a quilt show, the Steve Heil Memorial Car Show, a 48-hour softball tournament, a street dance and much more.
