Havre High School dished out two awards on Wednesday night. The 2023-24 “Athletes of The Year” were given to Kyanna Jarvis and Carson Harris.
Jarvis excelled for four seasons with the Blue Ponies in basketball along with track and field. She was a leader on the hardwood and also achieved many personal records and team records both on the track and in the field. At one time, she was the No.1 high jumper in the state of Montana this year. The awards night ended up being even more special for Jarvis because she announced her commitment to the track and field team at Montana State University-Billings.
Harris accomplished many feats in his Blue Pony career, including becoming a three-sport athlete. For the 2023 football season, he was an MHSA State Class ‘A’ honorable mention free safety. In the 2023-24 wrestling campaign, he placed fifth at state in the 138-pound weight class. For this past track and field season, he was part of the 4-by-100 relay team that became state champions and set multiple school records along with his individual PRs.
