Havre’s Soup Kitchen Provides Lunch to Needy 6 Days a Week

HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Needs are rising around the Havre area with the cold weather settling, and Energy Specialist with District 4 HRDC Sarah Solomon wants people to be aware that they can find a free lunch at the Feed My Sheep Soup Kitchen in Havre. She says they provide lunch and drinks, and sometimes can provide fresh bread or produce for people to take home.

“We do offer a free lunch from noon until 12:45 Monday through Saturday. And we basically just wanted to get the word out that we are here. And many of our Havre community and surrounding areas don’t even realize.”

Solomon says these meals are available to anybody who is hungry and can make it to their building.

“There’s no requirement to get a meal. You come through the door. Sign a little sign-in sheet and enjoy a free lunch. Each lunch is provided with some sort of beverage. That could entail milk, juice, water.”

Solomon says the Soup Kitchen is in need of volunteers and donations, and their number is 265-1629. They are closed during the holidays.
