Heart Butte Schools Shrinks Teaching and Administration Positions

(Heart Butte) Heart Butte schools voted to eliminate 30 positions on Wednesday, January 10th, citing financial issues as the main motivator for this action.

The board says this was a result of the misuse of credit cards in the amount of 300,000 dollars and accrued debt of nearly 1.5 million dollars due to mishandling of payroll taxes and retirement benefits.

In response, Heart Butte Principal Sandi Campbell submitted her resignation, which will take effect on January 19th. Campbell will spend her remaining time on the job filling in for a kindergarten teacher on maternity leave.
