Third graders need a way to keep learning, even at home. That’s why the Elks Lodge started their Bake Sale For Dictionary Project. Brandy Kurtz the Havre Elks Lodge Activities Chairwoman has the details…
“So the Dictionary Project is every third grader in our local area, all the elementary schools, get a dictionary, and it’s a book that they can have. They don’t have to give it back. They don’t have to leave it with the school, it’s theirs. So about five years ago Kyle Leeds and a group of us got together and we said, well why can’t we have a holiday bake sale, and so we started at the atrium, and it turned into about 20 or 30 platters of cookies to now we’ve got tons. And we do it during the kraft show up at the mall which will be on December 3rd and then once we get the funds then we’ll order the dictionaries and distribute them to all the third graders in the local area right after Christmas.“-Brandy Kurtz
