Havre, MT – Havre High boys basketball entered the holiday break with a zero in the win column, but that quickly changed after their first game in the new year when they defeated Browning 65-61.
Head coach of the ponies WaLynn Burges said he loved the way his team responded and overcame the adversity.
“I think coming our of the break having a response like that to go up against a tough Browning team on their home floor. You get that win, it was really good for the boys. You know overall just a really good game for us as far as going through a little adversity. For us to make plays down the stretch to win the game we got contributions from kids all over the floor knocking down shots. It was on of those ones you kind of start seeing the improvement and hopefully the boys can keep carrying the momentum going forward.” Coach Burgess said.
Dax Ostwalt lead the ponies with 18 points while Kash Keller and Griffen Terry put up 16 points each for the Ponies.
