(Havre) – Earlier this year the Montana Department of Transportation started a road project on US-2, known locally as first street in Havre. MDT Senior Engineering project manager Mike Moore explains the scope of this project.
“Well, the scope of this project is a pavement preservation project for concrete paving. It mainly is focusing on resealing the joints that allow for expansion and contraction movement and regrinding the surface for traction and also ride.”
you can find the latest information on this US-2 road project by visiting the Montana Department of Transportation website.

This week A-Cor construction crews are continuing the process of cleaning and resealing concrete joints in both the eastbound and westbound lanes of First Street. Crews will begin crosswalk milling operations moving east on First Street.
MDT Says Traffic has been reduced to one lane in each direction and is being guided by traffic control devices in active work areas. Minimal delays are anticipated, but travelers should plan for extra time. Speeds will be reduced to 25 to 35 mph or the posted speed, whichever is lower. Access to businesses will be maintained and clearly marked. Please follow posted signage. and wide loads are not restricted at this time but may be delayed depending on operations.
