HAYS, Mont. (NMB) – A construction project on Highway 66 on the Fort Belknap Reservation is now underway.
Construction began on May 13th on the project, which stretches from mile markers 10 to 35.
Beginning on Monday, May 17th, active work on the project is increasing, and travelers should plan on delays during daylight hours until around June 12th, except on Sundays and during adverse weather.
This construction project comes at a cost of around $5.8 million, according to the Montana Department of Transportation.
Scheduled work includes plant mix surfacing, a seal and cover, and pavement markings. Centerline and shoulder rumble strips will be replaced.
MDT says this project will extend the life of the roadway, improve the ride, the skid-resistant surface, and increase safety for the traveling public.
