Hill County Commission Tables Implementation of Online Budget Tool

HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – At their weekly business meeting on Thursday, the Hill County Commission tabled a proposal from Treasurer Sandy Brown and Clerk and Recorder Sue Armstrong that would allow for more transparency with regards to the County’s budget.

The ClearGov budget program would cost about $11,000 to implement, and would allow the public to view the Hill County’s accounting system online in an easier to read format.

Currently, to view the County’s budget is only available for viewing via paper copy in the Courthouse.

Several other counties in Montana use the budget program, and Armstrong and Brown have recommended using it for several weeks.

However, the Commission says they would like to speak with employees at ClearGov and gather more information before making a decision.
