HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) βThe Hill County Commissioners held their weekly business meeting on Thursday morning and discussed a variety of topics.
The Commission accepted the resignation of Hill County Family and Consumer Sciences/4-H Extension Agent Jasmine Carbajal, effective September 30th. Carbajal has held that role since September 2017. Also accepted was the hiring of Brittany Pfeifer as the Personnel Clerk and Legal Secretary for County Attorney Karen Alley.
During the claims portion of the meeting, the Commission noted that a 50 percent down payment of $29,939 had been made to the company Kone for the project to repair the broken elevator at the County Courthouse. The hope is for the elevator to be repaired by end of the first week of October, but that date is tentative.
With the elevator likely out of order when early voting in the General Election begins on October 2nd, the County will need to set up a handicapped accessible polling place on the ground floor. They may end up using the Timmons Room as a polling place, but no decision has been made at this time.
