Hill County experiences decline in employees due to seasonal jobs ending.

(Havre) The last Hill County Commissioners business meeting saw a wave of employment termination letters be read during the meeting.

New Media Broadcasters spoke with Hill County Commissioner Mark Peterson about the influx of letters, he offered this explanation.

“A lot of the terminations, if you use that term loosely, technically they were not terminated. It’s just that a lot of those were part times, summer jobs, and so they’re no longer employed by the county”

That said, the county still has several vacant board positions, some as old as 2020, that have not been filled by volunteers, the list of which was read during the meeting. Notices of open board positions can be found here.
