(Havre) – The Hill County Park Board met for it’s monthly meeting on Monday Night to discuss various items of business.
The board approved cabin transfers and additions to cabin properties in Beaver Creek Park. Chair Jeff Jensen reported that the lodge planning committee is going to be interviewing two architectural firms today about utilizing their services in the development of the new Lodge building at Camp Kiwanis.
The board decided to delay their officer elections until the July meeting since the Hill County Commissioners are conducting interviews this money with people who have applied to serve on the Hill County Park Board. They also delayed appointments to the various board committees for the same reason. Finally, the park board approved the draft budge for Beaver Creek Park proposed by Superintendent Chad Edgar.
In his report, Superintendent Edgar said Beaver Creek Park is starting to get busy and there was a high amount of use over the Memorial Day Weekend. He and his staff are completing projects in the park and Edgar stated he has hired one new seasonal employee and is interviewing another one this week. The park conditions are also very wet and green in most area. However, Edgar said some areas of the park are not greening up like in past years and he is not sure why.
The next meeting of the Hill County Park Board will be on Monday July 3rd, 5:30pm in the Timmons Room at the Hill County Courthouse.
