(Hill County) The Hill County Public Safety Committee met on Tuesday for their monthly meeting in the Timmons room of the Hill County Courthouse.
An accountability training on safety has been scheduled for department heads and elected officials for March 12th.
The cost of injury claims has been steadily trending downward since the county joined the State Fund in 2020. Sophie Magnuson of the Montana State Fund says that the county is half way through their insurance year but has less than 1000 dollars in claims so far.
Magnuson also says that this is likely reflective of the amount of attention the county has put into safety for its employees.
The committee also tentatively scheduled a county-employee-only safety fair on May 7th at the Great Northern Fairgrounds.
