Hill County Commissioners Weekly Business Meeting

(Havre) – The Hill County Commissioners met for their weekly business meeting on Thursday December 12th. The commissioners approved one resolution at the meeting, affirming Hill County’s participation in the Montana Community Reinvestment Plan and identifying Hab development corporation as the county’s reinvestment organization.

Great West Engineering was selected by the commissioners to continue as Hill County’s on call engineering firm providing technical assistance on county projects costing $5,000 or less. Next the commissioners approved a contract with the Montana Department of Environmental Quality to be the sub recipient for the City of Havre for a grant to assist with funds for improvements to the City of Havre Water treatment plant. These funds are federal funds given to the State of Montana to be allocated by DEQ. Hill County has to be sub recipient of these federal funds and pass them to the City of Havre, because the city has already received federal grant funds from the United States Department of Energy which disqualifies the city from directly receiving these federal grant funds allocated to the State of Montana.

The last business item approved by the Hill County Commissioners the approval to keep the medical retiree contribution amount from the county at $290.00 a month.
