HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – During these challenging times, District 4 Human Resources Development Council would like to let the public know that they are here to offer assistance.
Housing Director Alma Garcia encourages anyone experiencing homelessness to reach out, as they have a program available to potentially provide critical help.
“We have a program where we can assist families experiencing homelessness with first month’s rent, a deposit, and we can also coordinate for them to receive aid and an emergency food box. We’re more than willing to deliver the food box if necessary…That program, if you have been homeless for more than 30 days, definitely stop by HRDC, talk to (us), and we can get you an application, go through the income qualifiers for that, and we can help you look for a place where you can shelter from this weather.”
Another ongoing initiative HRDC is a part of is known as the Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP), which provides temporary funding for those that may not be able to afford utilities.
Face coverings remain required for anyone entering the HRDC building in Havre.
To contact HRDC, call 265-6743.
