(IRS) – The IRS has announced it will accept supplemental applications for Low Income Taxpayer Clinic (LITC) matching grants from qualified organizations until April 10.
LITC grants help protect taxpayer rights and ensures justice for thousands of taxpayers across the nation. The clinics provide assistance for those that need help but have nowhere to turn, or live in communities that are under-served, or do not have an established clinic.
LITCs provide pro bono representation to low income taxpayers in resolution matters with the IRS, educate taxpayers who speak English as a second language, and identify and advocate on issues directly affecting taxpayers.
Funding includes a continuation of LITC funding at $26 million, with a cap of $200,000 per award. Applications must be submitted electronically by 9:59p local time to be considered. More information can be found at irs.gov.
