(Havre) – Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen took part in a coalition of state attorney generals to repeal a set of laws Delaware passed that infringed upon the 2nd amendment. Attorney General Kundsen explains what happened.
We had a case of Delaware and people ask me you know why Delaware well I’m a big Second Amendment guy I’m a Hunter I’m a shooter I’m a collector I’m a reloader firearms are my hobby. I take the Second Amendment very very seriously. So when I see cases around the US where I think the Second Amendment is being attacked by States or by the federal government those are cases that we get involved in because I think they do have ramifications across the country. But basically you have the state of Delaware come in and pass an assault weapons the state said you know you can’t have these “scary assault weapons” which they don’t even define what an assault weapon is. The second amendment is largely settled so when we have states come in and try to infringe on the second amendment in spite of the US Supreme Court and in spite of federal law yeah those are fights I’m going to get involved in.
