(Havre) – Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen took part in a coalition of state attorney generals to repeal a set of laws Delaware passed that infringed upon the 2nd amendment. Attorney General Kundsen explains why it was important to fight against it.
“Well I mean oftentimes as one circuit goes so goes another. I mean especially when you’re talking about an East Coast State that’s more populous. You know legislature certainly look at other state legislatures and seeing what they’re doing you know right now I think we’re in a good spot in Montana we’ve got a republican controlled legislature we’ve got a republican Governor you know I think in the short term I don’t think there’s any risk of the Second Amendment being infringed in Montana. But we’re only ever just one election away from a legislature turning over who knows what the majority look like next session. And if there is a democrat majority in power in Helena next session and they see that hey Delaware did this or hey California did this I think that encourages that kind of a legislature to try that in Montana and that’s my concern.”
